Day 3: From sea to sea
He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River [Euphrates] to the ends of the earth (Zechariah 9:10).
Our Father, we look forward to the time when 'The kingdoms of this world [will] have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ...' (Revelation 11:5 -KJV).
We have no knowledge of anything else but this weary, war-torn world, riddled with disease, and death, and destruction. Give us eyes of faith to see Your promised restoration of equity, and harmony, and justice and peace. We know that all revelation from Your word is trustworthy (Daniel 2:45), for the mouth of the Lord has spoken (Isaiah 40:5):
Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together (Isaiah 40:4-5).
The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and His name the only name (Zechariah 14:9).
The Lord reigns forever; He has established His throne for judgment. He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity (Psalm 9:7-8).
He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Everyone will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid… (Micah 4:4-5; see also Isaiah 2:4).
“In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever” (Daniel 2:44).
He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed (Daniel 7:14).
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9:6-7 NKJV).
