Day 3: Outnumbering sand
I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness (Psalm 26:3).
Heavenly Father, You are love, and You show us what it is to love (1 John 4:8). You are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness (Psalm 86:15). Your amazing love is not conditional, nor is it transactional—You demonstrate Your own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
Your word assures us, He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? You are for us, and nothing or no one can stand against us (Romans 8:31-32).
We enter into the grateful awe of the psalmist, How precious to me are Your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand (Psalm 139:17-18).
You are a God of lavish proportions (1 John 3:1). You do not withhold any good thing from us. You give us grace and glory (Psalm 84:11 - NKJV). You shower us with honor and favor. You open to us Your storehouses of spiritual, physical, and material blessings.
Thank You for the numberless blessings we see, and for the numberless blessings we do not see. Thank You for all that we take for granted.
Open our eyes to see Your goodness, our minds to understand Your greatness, and our hearts to receive Your love. Then lead us into opportunities to touch the world with the same unfailing love that You so generously pour into our lives.
