Daily Affirmations - Day 4 - Do Not Worry: Everlasting Arms

Day 4: Everlasting Arms

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens [bears us up] (Psalm 68:19 - NIV, ESV).

Heavenly Father, in the inspired words of Scripture, Moses pronounced blessings over the sons of Israel—the descendants of Abraham, to whom You had promised, "through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed" (Genesis 26:4). Moses concluded the blessings with Your words of promise:

“There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in His majesty. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms” (Deuteronomy 33:26).

O Father, what a picture of Your tender, compassionate care, and Your mighty, sustaining power! And throughout Scripture, You continue to show that You are a God who upholds, supports, secures, and carries Your people:

“You yourselves have seen...how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself” (Exodus 19:4).

…In the wilderness…you saw how the Lord your God carried you, just as a man carries his son, in all the way which you have walked until you came to this place” (Deuteronomy 1:30-31).

He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young (Isaiah 40:11).

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you (Isaiah 46:4).

In all their distress He too was distressed, and the angel of His presence saved them. In His love and mercy He redeemed them, He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old (Isaiah 63:9).

Christ Himself carried our sins in His body to the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. It is by His wounds that you have been healed (1 Peter 2:24 – GNT).

God Almighty, You sustain the universe (Hebrews 1:3). You spread out the northern skies over empty space; You suspend the earth over nothing (Job 26:7). In Your hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind (Job 12:10). In Your hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to You (Psalm 95:4).

Is anything too hard for the Lord? (Genesis 18:14).

Give us true vision and perspective. We surrender our burdens, our cares, our griefs, and our snares. We release our impossibilities, our closed doors, and our hopeless cases. Thank You that You daily bear our burdens. Thank You that underneath are the everlasting arms.
