Daily Affirmations - Day 5 - Tender Care: From Beginning to End

Updated: May 16

Day 5: From beginning to end

From birth I was cast on You; from my mother’s womb You have been my God (Psalm 22:10).

Creator God, You fashioned and made the earth, You founded it; You did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited (Isaiah 45:18). You formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7).

You have never ceased to preside over birth and over life from beginning to end (Job 39:1-4; Psalm 90: 3-6, 10; Psalm 139:13-16). But Your sovereignty over birth is not just for the collective human race—it applies to every individual from the beginning of creation. The psalmist said:

For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made....  My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body... (Psalm 139:13-16).

O Father, thank You for the incredible joy and freedom of knowing that everything about my life—from beginning to end—You plan, You purpose, You preside over. I am secure because:

You made me in Your own image—in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them (Genesis 1:27).

You give me life by the very breath of God—The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life (Job 33:4).

You assign immeasurable worth to my life—But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows (Matthew 10:30-31);

You gave Your life for me—For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed… but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect (1 Peter 1:18-19).

You fill my life with purpose—For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10); The Lord Almighty has purposed and who can thwart Him? (Isaiah 14:27).

You will see me through to the end—being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).

You determine the end—all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:16).

You will lead me home—You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward You will take me into glory (Psalm 73:24).

O Lord, my life, my times are in Your hands (Psalm 31:15). From birth I was cast on [Your tender care]; from my mother’s womb You have been my God (Psalm 22:10).

And You have promised, Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you (Isaiah 46:4). Teach me to number my days, that I may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12).
