Daily Affirmations - Day 7 - We Matter: God Sees Our Possibilities

Day 7: God sees our possibilities

The Lord turned to [Gideon] and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” (Judges 6:14).

Heavenly Father, Infinite God, You are without confines, without limits. The prophet Jeremiah prayed, “Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for You” (Jeremiah 32:17).

You have proven over and over to our faithless and fickle hearts that "With God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26). Yet in the face of circumstances, we cower and fret, and fold, even as You stand before us in the powerful reality of "I AM", and challenge us, "Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26).

For You are the God who sees our possibilities—who calls us "mighty warrior" even as we retreat from enemy eyes in unlikely hiding places. You are the God who knows our capabilities—who calls us "more than conqueror" even as we are trounced by insecurities and by our long resume of failures and disqualifiers. But still You instruct:

“Go, in the strength you have..."

“Act, in the strength you have..."

“Stand, in the strength you have..."

“Move, in the strength you have..."

“Believe, in the strength you have..."

But we place our fleece before You, and see only doubt in both the drenching and the dryness. "What strength?" we ask the One who holds the stars and the universe. You answer, “This is the word of the Lord...: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty (Zechariah 4:6).

And then You whisper, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Am I not sending you?” (Judges 6:14).
