Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared (Proverbs 3:25-26).
Heavenly Father, thank You for teaching us wisdom. Help us to learn well. Help us to "preserve sound judgment and discretion;" let them be life for us and ornaments on our person (Proverbs 3:21-22).
Keep us Lord, from the type of stubborn control and faithlessness that would lead us to create faulty "fixes" and short-sighted "solutions." Deliver us from the evils of pride and self-will dressed in the guise of "good intentions." Keep us from the foolish fear and anxiety that would drive us, or those we impact, to ruin or disaster.
Give us instead patience and trust, and the type of wisdom that enables us to "go on [our] way in safety", with feet that "will not stumble" (Proverbs 3:23). Give us the deep peace of a heart that does not condemn us (1 John 3:20-21), a soul that trusts You, and a spirit that yearns for You. Let us "walk in the way of Your laws" and "wait for You" (Isaiah 26:8) so that "when [we] lie down, [we] will not be afraid; when [we] lie down, [our] sleep will be sweet Proverbs 3:24).
Teach us Father to love and trust You with abandon, believing Your promises. Your word tells us that "those who know Your name trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You" (Psalm 9:10).
