They feast on the abundance of Your house; You give them drink from Your river of delights (Psalm 36:8).
Father in heaven, Jehovah Jireh, thank you for Your goodness and Your abundant provision. In Your mercy and grace, You extend Your pure providence to all: All creatures look to You to give them their food at the proper time. When You give it to them, they gather it up; when You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good things (Psalm 104:27-28).
Thank You for opening Your hand so freely to give us of Your bounty. You, Lord, "satisfy the thirsty and fill the hungry with good things" (Psalm 107:9). You know our needs and our deepest longings. Not only do you meet our physical hunger, but knowing that humans cannot "live on bread alone" (Matthew 4:4), You offer Your "living water" to thirsty souls, and the "richest of fare" to hungry hearts (Isaiah 55:1-2).
Because You are our Great Shepherd, Lord, we "lack nothing" (Psalm 23:1). In Your great kindness You invite us to "feast on the abundance of Your house," to "drink from Your rivers of delight." Teach us to "eat what is good" (Isaiah 55:2 - NJJV). Let our soul find the satisfaction we seek in Your gifts of love and goodness.
Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, Your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals. How priceless is Your unfailing love, O God (Psalm 36:5-7)!
I’m living on the mountain, underneath a cloudless sky;
I’m drinking at the fountain that never shall run dry;
O yes! I’m feasting on the manna from a bountiful supply,
For I am dwelling in Beulah Land.
