He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him (Daniel 2:22).
Our Father in heaven, we bow in awe and worship before You. We offer our praise in the words of the prophet Daniel:
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are His. He changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him" (Daniel 2: 20-22).
Our Father, You have a plan and a purpose for our lives. But sometimes, like Daniel, we encounter unforeseen situations that suddenly threaten to "undo us."
Lord, when we are at our wits end, when the mists of uncertainty and apprehension seem to shroud all solutions and leave us lost in our dilemmas, remind us that "there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries" (Daniel 2:28).
Father, You know what lies in darkness" (Daniel 2:22), and You know "the way to the abode of light" (Job 38:19). Please light our way. Help us to "endure to the end" (Matthew 10:22). Help us to look to Jesus the "author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2). Open [our] eyes Lord, that [we] may see" (2 Kings 6: 17).
Thank You Lord, that in all our struggles with family and relationships, health and wellbeing, work and finances, pain and suffering, grief and loss, and all the other complexities of life, You speak Your words of invitation and of promise into our soul: "...call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me” (Psalm 50:15).
Open my eyes that I may see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready, my God, Thy will to see;
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit Divine!
