I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. (Isaiah 42:16).
Father in heaven, we are living in times when we seem to be constantly navigating new and unfamiliar territory. So much seems dark and rough, and we often feel like we are "flying blind."
Thank You for the encouragement from Your word, where You promised Your people that You "will not forsake them." You have not changed since then, because You are an unchanging God. You are still the God who guides and illuminates, and transforms.
Father, thank You that in my blindness You are omnipotent and omnipresent. Thank You that in my bewilderment and confusion You are my infallible guide, steering me through the unfamiliar paths before me. Thank You that in my darkness You are light, for in You there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). Thank you that in my stumbling You smooth the rough places and enable me to pass through the tough and treacherous terrain. Thank You for guiding me along the right path for Your name's sake (Psalm 23:3).
