Father in heaven, thank You that our worth does not come from our external appearance. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting (Proverbs 31:30), but a "gentle and quiet spirit" is "unfading" and "is of great worth in [Your] sight." Give me that type of spirit O Lord; help me to focus on what is of great worth to You and not on the ever-increasing obsessions and extremes of this world and its external trappings. Help me never to confuse my true worth with fleeting beauty and deceptive charm. And help me never to see anyone as lesser in value based on their physical appearance.
