For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? 1 Corinthians 4:7
Lord, we have nothing apart from You. We have nothing we did not receive. Give us grateful hearts for all that You've given and help us not to be proud or boastful. Help us to clearly understand our worth apart from our possessions so that if hardship, or tragedy, or disaster, or any other mishap should cause us to lose our possessions, we would not also lose our sense of value and become driven to despair, hopelessness or self-destruction. And O Lord, help us to see worth in others even when they have nothing, and esteem them as valuable souls created in Your image.
