Daily Affirmations - Written in the Scars - Day 2

Updated: Sep 22, 2022

Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for You are the One I praise (Jeremiah 17:14).

Our Father in heaven, You are Saviour, You are Healer. You forgive all [our] sins and heal all [our] diseases, [You] redeem [our] life from the pit and crown [us] with love and compassion" (Psalm 103:3-4). Lord we will not forget Your benefits.

We know that our fatal spiritual wound was cured by Christ on the cross—by his wounds [we] have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24). But we have also seen evidence of Your healing power over every part of our being—body, mind, soul spirit, and emotions. You reach even the deepest parts of our psyche, where wounds may throb, and fester, and chafe.

God of all love and compassion, we give You our hurts, our scars, our pain. We also pray for those among us struggling with health challenges, with mental anguish, and with broken spirits. Heal us O Lord, and save us by Your power and grace.

Even as we cry out to You, Lord, we know that we constantly face the realities of sin, death and destruction in a world that is fallen from Your grace. We long for the time when You will renew and restore all things.

In the meantime, as we journey on, often through trials and difficulties, help us to trust You, knowing "that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). Give us the strength and endurance we need. Help us not to "lose heart" when "outwardly we are wasting away." Remind us that by Your love and power, "inwardly we are being renewed day by day" (2 Corinthians 4:16).

We cast our cares on You, Lord, knowing You will sustain us (Psalm 55:22). Thank You for Your goodness and mercy.
